On the second day of Christmas my true love sent to me…………….Two Turtle Doves
One of the many things I enjoy about the Christmas season is watching classic Christmas feel good movies. I was recently watching Home Alone 2 with my children on a rainy afternoon and I forgot how awesomely funny it is watching the Wet Bandits try and fail at robbing a New York toy shop. My 10 year old son reminds me of Kevin McCallister in many ways and he was laughing his head off throughout the entire movie.
There is a beautiful scene in the film that really explains the turtle doves a sign and symbol of friendship. The shop owner in the film gives the main character Kevin two turtle doves and says that one is to keep and one is to give away. As long as the two people have the doves they will be connected with friendship. Doves mate for life and are completely devoted to one another. They are also representative of the old and new testaments in the Bible, coming together in the promise of Jesus in the plan for the world. On the second day of Christmas, true love gave me….. friendship love and devotion.

For the Eco Christmas gift, I’ve selected the recycled cashmere company, Turtle Doves that I wrote about before in the recycled brooch post on Two Turtle Doves. For this idea of the friendship doves, I ordered two pairs on their fabulous luxury wrist-warmers. Buying two sets was intentional, as I wrote about in my one as a gift, one to give post for of sharing Eco ideas. This is a lovely way to gift recycled luxury. There is a choice of colours and other items too from patchwork shawls to baby booties made from all the off cuts.
On the second day of Christmas my true love sent to me Two Turtle Doves and A Partridge in a Pear Tree.
